The Lillian Waltom Foundation is a dedicated scholarship foundation. Since 1988, we have proudly awarded scholarships to students from Jourdanton, Pleasanton, Poteet, and Charlotte high schools, supporting their educational journeys. Our exclusive focus ensures that only students from these schools are eligible to apply, providing them with unique opportunities to achieve their academic goals.

About the Foundation

This foundation was created in honor of Miss Lillian Waltom, a dedicated educator in the Jourdanton Independent School District. Following her passing, her vision came to life in the fall of 1988 with the establishment of the foundation. We offer academic scholarships to outstanding high school students from Jourdanton, Pleasanton, Poteet, and Charlotte, Texas. After completing an application, the student's counselor must approve and submit applications for consideration. Since the inception of the foundation, we have proudly awarded over $3,500,000 in scholarships, supporting the academic pursuits of local students.

Our Purpose

We aim to offer financial support to graduating seniors from Jourdanton, Pleasanton, Poteet, and Charlotte High Schools. By easing the financial burden of higher education, we help these students pursue their academic dreams and future aspirations.

Scholarship Application Guidelines

The Lillian Waltom Foundation accepts scholarship applications annually from April 1 to May 1. To be eligible, applicants must be graduating seniors from public high schools in Jourdanton, Pleasanton, Poteet, and Charlotte, TX, and residents of Atascosa County. Students with an immediate family member who previously received our scholarship are not eligible to apply.

Scholarship Details

Successful applicants will be awarded a $10,000 scholarship from the Lillian Waltom Foundation. This amount will be paid directly to the recipient's chosen college or university to support their educational journey.
